Job Title: Power BI/Platform Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: 7 Months contract

Visa: USC only (Otherwise you have to provide PP number and travel history)

Note: Candidate MUST have ex- govt or state client experience.

Additional Information:

  • Candidate MUST have at least 12-14 years of total IT experience*
  • Candidates Local candidates only. Outside candidates are welcome only if they have prior experience with HHSC
  • The worker may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested.

 Project Scope:

Texas Health and Human Services Commission requires the services of 1 Software Engineer 3, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Software Engineer 3, Applications/Software Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

 Job Description

Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. Investigates problem areas. Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

 

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • This Software Engineer 3 contractor position is part of the Administrative Applications.
  • SharePoint team and will be working to develop enhancements and provide support for the Texas HHS Legislative Tracking System (LTS) 2.0 Power Platform application.
  • This position will perform Software Engineer/Application Developer duties that will involve the following Power Platform areas:
  • Power Apps Canvas and Model-driven apps, Dataverse, Power Automate Flows for business process automation and Power BI reports.

 

Core Skills:  SaaS, PaaS, Application Developer, Agile, Power BI, Power Automate Flows, Desktop Flows, business process Flows

  Mandatory Skills: 

  1. 8 years of Work experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments
  2. 8 years of Work experience as a Software Engineer or Application Developer
  3. 8 years of Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate technical solutions
  4. 8 years of Experience with Agile development processes and sprint planning
  5. 8 years of Experience in design and development of Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps by utilizing Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, or other databases as the backend data storage model
  6. 8 years of Experience in design and development of Power BI reports
  7. 8 years of Experience developing Power Automate Flows, Desktop Flows, business process Flows
  8. 8 years of Experience with Good understanding of Dataverse tables and uses
  9. 8 years of Experience with Good understanding of the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Admin Center.

 

Desirable Skills: 

  1. 3 years of experience with Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills at all levels of an organization
  2. 3 years of experience with Good teamwork skills, and ability to collaborate with other functional and technical staff on the project
  3. 3 years of experience with Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on cross-functional teams
