• Administer, maintain, and provide support for Linux servers and VDI infrastructure.
• Resolve incidents and handle technical escalations.
• Analyze and address issues related to server operating systems, hardware, and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software applications.
• Document resolution details in the ticketing system and follow up with employees to ensure satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot technical requests and gather necessary information.
• Develop automation solutions and documentation for recurring technical problems.
• Perform root cause analysis for problems and major incidents, offering workarounds to maintain business continuity.
• Monitor server performance and ensure compliance with security standards using Linux tools and command-line interfaces.
• Handle Change Management activities, including implementation plans, rollback plans, test plans, risk and impact analysis for critical or complex changes.
• Install software, maintain appropriate patch levels, perform performance tuning, and carry out firmware upgrades across multiple hardware platforms.
• Respond to outages during normal business hours and provide after-hours on-call support when needed.
• Coordinate and collaborate with external vendors, end-users, team members from other departments, and service providers to resolve issues.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to the IT Manager and identify opportunities for procedural or technical improvements.
Qualifications:
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Linux Administrator.
• Proficiency in Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Familiarity with Version Control systems like SVN and GitLab.
• Scripting and Automation skills in Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Knowledge of applications such as SOS, Jira, and Confluence.
• Understanding of EDA Applications and familiarity with the IBM LSF job scheduler.
• Networking knowledge including TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, Load Balancing, and security concepts.
• Experience in Database Maintenance, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in monitoring and performance tools for Linux, Syslog, and SNMP.
• Virtualization expertise in VMware 7 and above, as well as Citrix Storefront.
• Understanding of storage concepts including NFS, ISCSI, Cronjobs, and rsync functionality.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in hardware rack and stack operations.
