Candidate must reside in one of the following states – Ohio, Texas, Kentucky, West Virginia, Illinois, Indiana. Occasional travel may be possible but would be rare.

Nice to have:
• Experience with multiple Linux distributions (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL, SUSE).
• Familiarity with AWS Lambda, SNS, SQS, MySQL, Dynamo, RDS

Experience with Rubrik.
• VMWare, Linux+, RHCSA, or DevOps certifications
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and best practices in Azure

Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered, but bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.

Additional Requirements:
1. Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, codes and regulations relevant to assignments.
2. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of AEP infrastructure, environment, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems.
3. Exhibit and apply proficiency in analysis, design, problem solving, troubleshooting, resolution, communication, and customer service skills.

In addition to any experience noted above, at least 5 years of IT Systems Administration experience supporting Middleware/OS technologies is required.
• 3 years of progressive experience with Linux and Windows operating systems in both physical and virtualized environments.
• 3+ years of scripting experience with Linux/Unix shells, MS PowerShell, Ansible, or configuration management software.
• Extensive experience with automation scripting languages (Bash, PERL, Python, etc.).
• Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, or Xen virtualization.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Advanced knowledge of application deployment and incident resolution processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Working knowledge of supporting technologies for servers, including networking, services, and industry best practices.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and/or off-hours support.
