General Purpose

The Quality Assurance Test Analyst is part of our growing cross-functional Agile development team, developing and supporting transactional websites which fully integrate with complex back-office legacy applications that drive core business processes.

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Be part of a cross-functional team of Agile testers, developers, and business users.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of the software development process and all aspects of Agile Quality Assurance. 
  • Deliver effective & comprehensive testing to ensure the highest quality software within the timeframe of Agile sprints. 
  • Familiar with automation frameworks and routinely edit and execute automated test scripts using automated testing tools.
  • Manage defect tracking and defect maintenance and perform defect root cause analysis.
  • Analyze and review data, test results and documents for consistency and accuracy.
  • Assist QA team members with ensuring all test resources are utilized effectively and support other QA team members on testing activities and processes.
  • Ensures that the appropriate level of testing has been identified through a Risk Based Testing approach for all test initiatives.
  • Proactively work with all roles on the project team to provide support as needed to ensure overall quality and success of initiatives
  • Independently and proactively maintains expertise in a broad range of testing methodologies and strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Design tests that clearly convey the business rules and code they are checking (i.e., Story-level tests or Acceptance Tests), so that both business users and developers can understand their intentions.
  • Appropriate to each project, develop and execute test strategy, test plans, test cases, acceptance testing and test scripts.
  • Work with Business partners on UAT.  Appropriate to each project, create UAT plan and collaborate with Business partners.
  • Contributes to the implementation and continual improvement of QA standards, processes and procedures.

 

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8years of experience in system-level QA Testing.
  • 5 years of experience in an Agile environment 
  • Working knowledge of Web application testing and/or Web service testing 
  • Familiar with all stages of the SDLC as well as Software Quality Assurance testing including System, Integration, Regression, Performance and User Acceptance Testing. An understanding of the concepts of Test-Driven Development(TDD) and how it applies to Agile testing
  • Deep level of knowledge in creating test strategy and test case documents
  • Ability to write and understand basic SQL queries to perform data verification and set up test dataExperience with testing tools such as QA Symphony qTEST, Borland Micro Focus Silk Central, HP Quality Center, Test Director, or similar.
  • Experience using test automation frameworks i.e. Cucumber, FitNesse, TestNG, or Selenium
  • Experience with API tools like SOAPUI, Postman, or similar
  • Experience with Defect Management tools such as Jira or Bugzilla
