MUST HAVE:
This resource is critical to continue creating reports for Child Welfare and Finance in NYS. If this resource is not procured, SPPD and the OCFS Data Warehouse will be left without a resource to address ongoing management and operational reporting over the next two years, including needed development of data structures and extractions that are necessary for the continued support of Local Districts of Social Services (LDSSs) and Federal reporting.
Qualifications
- IT Specialist - Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.
- Expert- 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
- 84 Months of Experience in working collaboratively on business requirement gathering, analysis and logical design
- 84 Months of Experience in Creating and modifying Framework Manager & Transformer models
- 84 Months of Experience in Creating and modifying reports using COGNOS tools
- 84 Months of Experience in using SQL for analysis and reporting including conditional formatting and joining multiple queries
- 84 Months of Experience testing all reports and analytics prior to moving to production
- 84 Months Experience in social service-related reporting including trouble shooting for user support
- Bachelor’s Degree
Day-to-Day tasks
- Participate in business requirement gathering for BI projects.
- Work with Business Analyst on analysis and logical design.
- Perform complex SQL coding to facilitate reporting and testing functions.
- Modeling using IBM Cognos BI Framework Manager and Transformer to support mission critical reporting initiatives including all layers of the model and package development.
- Securing the Framework Manager and Transformer models for data level, object level and package access security.
- Create advanced reports using IBM Cognos Analytics, which include but are not limited to several pages with conditional formatting and joining multiple queries to produce a single dataset for the requested report.
- Complete testing of all reports, dashboards, and analytics in all environments prior to business owner review/approval.
- Transfer knowledge to other Cognos users creating their own reports in person and using electronic technologies.
- Provide troubleshooting and end user support and problem resolution.
- Research and develop solutions utilizing new product functionality to integrate into Human Services Cluster business deliverables.
- Support rewriting of claims reports required by changes caused by federal Family First initiative.
