Capacity Planning and Optimization:

- Identify underutilized and overprovisioned resources and recommend right-sizing strategies.
- Implement auto-scaling policies to dynamically adjust resources based on demand fluctuations.
- Optimize virtual machine configurations, storage allocations, and network resources to maximize efficiency.
Cost Management and Optimization:
- Monitor Azure usage and expenditures to identify cost drivers and trends.
- Implement cost allocation tags and resource group policies for improved cost visibility.
- Analyze cost-saving opportunities, such as Reserved Instances, Spot Instances, and Azure Hybrid Benefit.
- Develop and implement cost optimization strategies, including rightsizing, instance scheduling, and storage optimization.
Performance Monitoring and Tuning:
- Monitor application performance and resource utilization to identify bottlenecks and performance issues.
- Collaborate with application teams to implement performance-tuning techniques and optimize application configurations.
- Conduct load testing and performance benchmarking to validate capacity and scalability requirements.
Financial Governance and Reporting:
- Establish financial governance policies and controls to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and spending limits.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to track cloud usage, costs, and savings initiatives.
- Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders for informed decision-making on cloud investments.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of the latest Azure services, pricing models, and best practices for cost optimization.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline capacity management and cost reduction efforts.
- Drive innovation initiatives to leverage new technologies and methodologies for further cost savings and efficiency gains.
Qualifications and Skills:
Academics and other skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in cloud capacity management and cost optimization, preferably with Azure.
- Strong understanding of Azure services, pricing models, and cost management tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate are a plus.
