A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.
• Seven (7) or more years of experience in a Business Intelligence (BI), Data Engineer, or ETL role;
Proven experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL) databases and Microsoft SQL Server;
• Proficiency in writing complex and optimized SQL queries;
• Experience with SQL functions, stored procedures, triggers, and views;
• Understanding of SQL query performance tuning and optimization;
• Extensive experience with one or more database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar;
• Knowledge of database administration, maintenance, backup, and recovery;
• Ability to design and implement robust database schemas;
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes;
• Understanding of normalization, indexing, and other optimization techniques;
• Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, R, Java, or C# for data manipulation and script writing;
• Experience with database Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and connecting applications to databases;
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar for reporting and data visualization;
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex data-related problems;
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of databases;
• Proven experience in ETL tools and processes and in data migration projects;
• Proficient understanding of data warehousing methodologies;
• Proven proficiency with Microsoft Power BI for creating dashboards and reports;
• Proven experience with data modeling, data architecture, and data quality concepts;
• Proven proficiency in SQL and other data languages;
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities;
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
• Must be able to clearly convey information and ideas in both written and verbal forms to share information and ideas and resolve issues;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required;
• Ability to communicate or interact professionally and tactfully with people of different levels of education, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences and exhibit respect to others; and
• Organizational skills with strong attention to detail including the ability to adequately establish time frames and deadlines, meet deadlines, and follow through on tasks and assignments.
