* 5 years of experience in a MSSQL DBA role
* Experience within database design, Replication, Stored procedures, SQL performance and tuning and all aspects of high-value add applications database support.
* Relational Database development, troubleshooting, design for highly concurrent applications

Day-to-Day

Client is seeking a Microsoft SQL Database Administrator. As a Primary Database Administrator (DBA), you will be responsible for supporting various application development teams by advising on design, implementing solutions, and optimizing databases for the applications. You will work as an expert in Microsoft SQL Server, evaluating and adopting features in new releases of the product. You will collaborate with engineers across all business units to design, develop, and optimize databases for diverse application workloads. You will provide support for database standardization programs from design, development, and implementation. You will also be responsible for installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of the DBMS environment, designing and implementing database security controls to safeguard firm data, and providing production support, capacity planning, and working on building the database infrastructure globally. You will manage various OS and database specific upgrades on Windows/Linux environment, build self-service and automation tools using scripts/programs (ex. PowerShell) to reduce manual processing in providing low-touch offerings, and work closely with Microsoft Engineering and Product support teams to provide feedback as well as new feature requirements as per the firm's development needs. You should have experience with highly transactional systems, detailed knowledge of Always on and Clustering, and have worked migrating SQL Servers from on-premise to Cloud (AWS specifically a plus). You should also set up, configure, and monitor SQL Server replication with complex patterns, and be skilled in evaluating and tuning SQL for performance enhancement.
