JOB DETAIL

Our client located in Providence, RI is looking to bring a Project Manager on their team. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in facilitating effective communication and collaboration among diverse stakeholders involved in providing assistance to Afghans. The position will be responsible for creating and managing a communication platform, developing comprehensive work plans, and ensuring the successful implementation of the Afghan Social Capital Project.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate transparent and timely communication between government agencies, NGOs, community leaders to ensure a coordinated effort in assisting Afghans in RI.
  • Communication Platform Development: Establish and maintain a robust communication platform that promotes information sharing and collaboration among agencies working on the Afghan Social Capital Project. Ensure accessibility and relevance of the platform.
  • Work plan Development: Collaborate with project stakeholders to create detailed work plans outlining objectives, timelines, and responsibilities for each agency. Provide guidance to agencies to align their activities with the established plan.
  • Program Improvement: Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for enhancing the overall effectiveness and impact of the Afghan Social Capital Project. Implement strategies based on feedback and evaluation.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Plan and lead regular meetings with key stakeholders to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities. Ensure that meetings are productive, inclusive, and focused on achieving project goals.
  • Capacity Building: Provide training and support to agencies involved in the project, identifying and addressing capacity-building needs to ensure successful project implementation.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Project Management, Social Sciences)
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in social development contexts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Afghan social and cultural dynamics
  • Proficient in English; knowledge of Dari or Pashto is advantageous
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
