Senior Business Analyst

Duration:  March 11 – June 30 (project extensions after June 30th)

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, management information systems, or related field or equivalent work experience. 

• Minimum of 8+ years of significant experience in business and systems analysis in an IT environment.  

• Experience with Microsoft Visio. 

• Work experience in a state agency, criminal justice, or other government settings almost 3 years.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

• CBAP Certification is a plus.

Project Overview:

Business Analyst to support state government client with problem identification, requirements definition, determination of alternative solutions, and the analysis, design, development, and implementation of solutions and processes.

 

The Business Analyst will be filling a role on multiple projects and will be part of the Strategic Planning Office. The candidate will be responsible for:

• Working directly with the project team to ensure understanding of the IT solution's requirements, functionality, size, and scalability.

• Facilitating meetings with business owners and subject matter experts to identify impacted business processes and document the business requirements.

Analyzing identified problems/gaps to determine whether system changes are required.

• Documenting business process improvements for projects to develop a representation of functionality to be used by the business to understand itself better, improve the business system, or design future state business processes to meet the court's needs.

• Working with vendors on business and system analysis practices and project requirements.

• Performing detailed research when required and reports research findings to the project team.

• Creating and documents test cases to ensure the final product meets the business requirements and expectations.

• Working with stakeholders to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements to be included in a Request for Proposal (RFP).

• Establishing evaluation criteria and scoring methodology for vendor response to Request for Proposal (RFP) to determine the best solution.

• Participating in reviewing and scoring RFP responses against the established evaluation criteria.

• Consolidating scores and feedback from stakeholders and make recommendation to project team.
