JOB DETAIL

Job Overview: The Client is seeking a Data Architect to conduct analysis and provide recommendations for the development of a comprehensive data warehouse. The focus of this role is on design and planning, with the goal of creating a unified data repository for multiple VDH programs. The key deliverables include a VDH Data Warehouse Strategy Report, technical architecture, data model, data flow, and data architecture models.

Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in data modeling and design.

Expert knowledge of data quality and governance processes, including data profiling, cleansing, validation, lineage, security, privacy, and compliance.

Expertise in master data management principles and components, including the master person index.

Knowledge of the Verato master data management platform is preferred.

Experience in SQL development and database administration.

Proficiency in using Visio for creating all models.

Knowledge of MuleSoft for integration.

Experience working within the legal context governing the sharing of public health data, including HIPAA and 42 CRF Part 2.

Expertise in data warehouse design and ETL, including knowledge of tools, technologies, and strategies employed in data warehouse development (ETL tools, databases, data marts, data lakes, data warehouses as a service, and business intelligence tools).

Deliverable Requirements:

  1. Workplan:
    • High-level tasks for analysis and report drafting.

Timeline with start/end dates and dependencies.

Weekly updates reflecting progress and significant changes in scope.

  1. Weekly Work Status Reports:
    • Status of progress on all items outlined in the work plan.

Risks/issues log highlighting barriers and recommended strategies.

Active blockers raised via direct communication.

Proposal of new tasks or scope updates with high value.

Requests for approval of significant workplan updates or information about data.

  1. VDH Data Warehouse Strategy Report:
    • Outline and draft submitted for approval before the final submission.

Additional Information:

  • The contractor must be available for weekly meetings to review reports and attend meetings upon request of the SOV (Supervisor of Vendor).

Experience with data governance, compliance, and legal frameworks in public health contexts is highly preferred.

This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders and producing comprehensive documentation to inform the development of a future data warehouse implementation project.
