Position Summary
Somos Inc. is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior CloudOps Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team.
As a Senior CloudOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of software development and deployment processes, enabling efficient and scalable operations.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in DevOps practices, Cloud platforms, Automation, and a passion for driving continuous improvement in software delivery.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Implement DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment that leverage AWS services.
- Automate Cloud operations and maintenance tasks as appropriate to improve the capability, efficiency, and customer delivery time.
- Build, manage, and deploy architectures using technologies such as Serverless and Kubernetes
- Automate tasks across the full CI/CD lifecycle to create an efficient developer experience and reduce manual actions.
- Promote and implement best practices in observability (monitoring, tracing, alerting, logging) and high availability within the software engineering group.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to mitigate disruption for any system being supported by the DevOps team.
- Good written and technical briefing skills – can effectively communicate with teammates and leadership.
- Keep system documentation updated as necessary.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years in DevOps or SRE roles, with a focus on tooling, automation, and distributed systems development
- 8+ years of overall software industry experience
- 3+ Experience with Continuous integration/Continuous deployment tools, services, and methodologies (GitHub Actions, Codefresh pipelines etc)
- Extensive experience architecting, designing, and implementing deployments in AWS cloud environments.
- Excellent understanding of networking and ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues in an AWS environment.
- Excellent documentation and communication skill, as well as presentation and demo skills
- 2+ years of Infrastructure as Code (iaC) with Terraform/CloudFormation and scripting with Python/Shell.
- Experience with Application and Infrastructure monitoring using Datadog, AWS CloudWatch etc.
- Familiarity with Cloud Security tools like Qualys, Prisma Cloud etc.
Education Required
• Bachelor’s or better in Computer Science or related field.
Preferred
• Master’s or better in Computer Science or related field.
