JOB DETAIL

The selected candidate will operate as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist within the Program Optimization Support and Transformation (POST) bureau. This role specifically supports the New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS) PeopleSoft system's functional areas and bureau users.

Duties:

  • Business Process Documentation: Document and categorize existing business processes for clarity and improvement.
  • Business System Documentation: Compose and review documentation related to business systems to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Communication: Assist in conveying business process and system requirements to IT staff and other stakeholders effectively.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize established business processes and technology to identify, analyze, and resolve production problems/issues.
  • Analysis: Review and analyze business process deficiencies requiring resolution during or after system implementation.
  • System Configuration: Perform system configurations and analysis to determine the most efficient way to migrate system changes.
  • Deployment Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and develop deployment plans for new business processes and system components.
  • Deployment Execution: Facilitate the execution of deployment plans to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Ticket Management: Create tickets in a ticket management system, prioritize and reassign support tasks, and oversee incident resolutions.
  • Problem Resolution: Work with business and technical staff to analyze deployment process problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work directly with operational bureau managers and staff to coordinate and complete required activities as business owners during the Deployment Phase of the System Development Life Cycle.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Experience (10+ Years): The candidate must have a deep background in Information Technology, with experience extending beyond that of a Programmer.

Specific Requirements:

  • Remote Work: This position is 100% remote.
  • IT Experience: At least 72 months of Information Technology experience in at least five of the following areas: liaison with functional users and management, requirements gathering, configuration management, release management and deployment, troubleshooting and debugging, functional documentation and design, post-implementation system monitoring, software development lifecycle planning.
  • PeopleSoft Modules Experience: 72 months of experience performing configurations or configuration-based analysis in one or more of the following PeopleSoft modules: CRM, HCM, FIN & IB.
  • Incident Management Experience: 72 months of experience in event intake, triage, incident response, escalation of incidents, and stakeholder communications.
  • Deployment and Release Management Experience: 72 months of experience in deployment and release management, including data analysis of object contention and configuration lists.
  • Executive Reporting Experience: 48 months of experience creating and maintaining standardized reports for executives and senior management.
  • Change Management Experience: 48 months of experience in Change Management in fulfilling user requests, resolving incidents, and meeting operational commitments.
  • Documentation and Standards Development: 48 months of experience developing procedures, standards, workflows, documentation, and visualizations.
  • Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
