Position: Power BI Developer
Location: Washington, D.C. (metro accessible)
Duration: 6 month contract with likely extension
Hybrid: 3 days a week onsite or could be remote (Must be able to work EST hours)
Our partner is looking for a Power BI Developer who would be responsible for the following:
• Translating business requirements into technical specifications to create insightful and interactive dashboards that drive decision-making.
• Design, build, and deploy Microsoft Power BI interactive and paginated.
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
• Develop knowledge transition plans, and technical documentation for requested knowledge transition sessions.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience using Power BI.
• Superior communication, collaboration skills and interpersonal leadership skills.
• Proven experience as a Microsoft Power BI Developer and/or Data Engineer.
• Experience in dimensional modeling, including tabular modelling.
• Understanding of database management systems, ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks and SQL language.
• Expertise in data visualization and storytelling, including creating interactive reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI using standard visuals.
• Experience creating paginated reports in Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Comfortable writing Power BI DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to build measures and calculated columns.
• Experience in Data Management and understanding of database systems.
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
• Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, a strong analytical mindset, and able to produce high quality, accurate reports from high-level requirements while working in a high pressure and dynamic environment.
