Job Description:

The Power Apps/Sharepoint Developer will create a Microsoft Power App for the "radio call list", currently an Excel/Powershell application. The radio call list is used by DOT for emergency response. DOT plans to use this to better understand the role that Power Apps in the agency ecosystem.
Project Background:

Radio Call List App

The Radio Call List currently is being used by a variety of employees including districts and the Transportation Management Center as an emergency response spreadsheet which lives on SharePoint. NHDOT would like a Power App GCC Version to edit Radio Call List contact information.

Objective

The Radio Call List is used extensively by NHDOT for emergency response and is currently in Excel stored on SharePoint. The Radio Call List App (app) will allow specified editors to update employee contact information (such as work phone, home phone) as well as other attributes (such as assigned vehicle, location, and proposed leave time) in a more formalized manner. Based on information contained within the app, the app will also create two formatted Excel workbooks nightly. The first spreadsheet is available to all DOT employees and contains basic employee information. The second spreadsheet contains sensitive information, such as private home phone numbers, and would only be available to select people.

Scope of Work:

· Ability to architect, analyze, design, code, and test.

· Develop the app using various approaches.

· Accessing DOT Data Warehouse – Data already stored in data warehouse (such as list of employees)

o App proof of concept using cost-effective connectors, such as HTTP.

o App proof of concept using Oracle premium connector via once / night service account call

· Editing Data – Allow Editors to edit data unique to the app (such as personal home phone numbers)

o Implement the functionality to edit changes for App Editors and push those modifications to both Excel files.

o Prevent editing of data already stored in data warehouse.

· Storing Data in App - May include storing known DOT data warehouse data and data unique to the app.

o Proof of concept using JSON: Ensure that the app’s data is stored efficiently using JSON.

o Proof of concept using Dataverse.

o May also include proof of concept using Excel or SharePoint Lists.

o Evaluate and recommend the Optimal Data Storage Model: Analyze the requirements and propose the most cost-effective approach for data storage based on proof of concepts.

· Power App GCC for editors to update contact and related information.

· Dynamic Data Updates in Excel Spreadsheet: Ensure that the app automatically updates any changes in the data within the Excel spreadsheet when modifications occur.

· Implement the ability to edit and display whether a contact is on vacation.

· Incorporate robust data validation mechanisms to ensure accurate and reliable.

· Incorporate and define permissions for the Admins, Editors and Users who use this app.

o Admin: Should be able to manage the users connecting to this app.

o Editor: Should be able to edit contacts or add or delete contacts.

o User (only for Excel): Only view access based on user role and permissions most likely managed via folder permissions in a SharePoint document library

· Create a workflow to update, edit, delete, view& download data for privileged users.

· Based upon the level of effort include search, call feature (teams, Jabber, traditional phone call).

· Search: Classic Search Bar à when typed first 3 letters of their name should display list of contacts matching, and contacts can be searched.

· Call Feature via Power App->Integration between teams call functionality, Cisco Jabber, and traditional phone call

Effort will include documentation, deployment, hand over and training.

Configure environment and establish basic DevOps capabilities for the NHDOT instance of Power Platform.

Teach NHDOT employees best practices and improve NHDOT skillsets.
