The Power BI Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy insightful visualizations and reports. The candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Visualization:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and objectives.
- Design and develop interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Data Modeling:
- Build and optimize data models to support complex business logic and calculations.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within the Power BI environment.
- Query Optimization:
- Fine-tune and optimize queries for improved performance and responsiveness.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in data retrieval and processing.
- Data Integration:
- Integrate data from various sources into Power BI for comprehensive reporting.
- Nice to have: Implement ETL processes to transform and load data into Power BI datasets.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Power BI solutions into existing systems.
- Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power BI solutions.
- Address issues related to data sources, report design, and performance.
- Document data models, report designs, and development processes.
- Create user guides and training materials for Power BI end-users.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX language.
- Experience in optimizing Power BI reports for performance.
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, Azure SQL, etc.).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Power Query development skills.
- Familiarity with Azure services related to Power BI.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
- Work with business users to define user requirements for dashboards, reports, and APPs along with existing Cognos reports included in migration.
- Design and develop analytical reports, dashboards using PowerBI by creating multiple measures using DAX expressions for finance team.
- Developed PowerBI Reports with Row-level security (RLS) to restrict report access at department level.
- Recommended architectural improvements, design, and integration solutions.
- Design and develop IMM reports (heavy data) with Hot & Cold approach for best performance.
- Improved Report Quality by identifying and integrating various data sources and using best practices.
- Improved report development through continuous collaboration with both stakeholders and developer teams across different business verticals.
- Develop PowerBI data models based on Cognos Packages used for PowerBI Data Visualization and Analysis.
