Provide general support of CT DMV licensing applications. Upcoming initiative includes the replat formeing of the mainframe-based licensing system. The candidate must be proficient with mainframe platform skills including CICS, batch analysis, and SOAP web services. With the licensing system moving to to a new platform, necessary skills include.NET development, and web services. Advanced skills developing Restful web services is a primary consideration for
this engagement.

The project that we are gearing up for is the refactoring of a mainframe application to a modern underlying infrastructure. The candidate will be expected to assist with the transition of the legacy mainframe application from CICS, COBOL, VSam to a .NET framework, C#, SQL environment.  

 

The ideal candidate:

  • will be proficient in .NET, C#, and SQL

  • must have a strong understanding of CICS, COBOL, VSam to support the legacy system transition

  • will additionally have strong skills for developing RESTful API's to support data exchange between various systems

SCOPE OF WORK

What does the project / work entail. Include all detailed requirements.

1) Assist with major projects including AAMVA-related
2) Cross-train in generating web-services used to communicate between in-house and out-of-house applications that
may, or may not, also reside on a mainframe
3) Become familar with day-to-day support with the goal of accepting responsibilities such as: a) supporting m/f
customer support; b) completing requests for ad hoc reporting; 3) analizing and enhancing existing CICS and batch
code in order to enhance processing or to resolve issues
4) Provide assistance in re-platforming mainframe applications to a yet-to-be-determined platform
