Our direct client is searching for a highly qualified Technical Project Manager to be at the forefront of building and maintaining cloud and on-prem infrastructure and service offerings. This team is directly responsible for the systems and services that enable our engineering and manufacturing teams to build and grow at "ludicrous" speeds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Private Cloud Capacity Program:
- Plan, oversee, and execute all aspects of our global capacity program for private cloud.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion and precision execution of buildouts while adhering to quality standards and strict timelines.
- Implement project management best practices to mitigate risks and ensure successful delivery.
Hardware Purchasing and SKU Alignment:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cross-functional program with high visibility reporting and work tightly with GSM on purchasing strategy.
- Manage SKU alignment and qualification/evaluation program to ensure compatibility, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of hardware components.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to build a strong partnership, and work with GSM to negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements.
Custom Software Development:
- Drive success on the development and implementation of a self-service platform for infrastructure management working in collaboration with development teams and service owners.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and prioritize features.
- Aid in managing the software development lifecycle from planning and design to deployment and maintenance and building highly visible progress reporting and metrics.
Fleet Maintenance Schedule and Execution:
- Develop and drive a proactive fleet maintenance schedule for physical and virtual hosts, to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security across our datacenters.
- Coordinate maintenance activities across platform admins and stakeholders in conjunction with incident response teams to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of technical project management experience, with at least 2 years of experience in hyperscale datacenter operations, hardware procurement, software development, or fleet management
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding of datacenter infrastructure, hardware components, and SDLC methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira or similar software.
