About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Contract UX Designer to support our team for a 6-month engagement. This role offers a unique opportunity to wear multiple hats, playing a key role in both user research and design system implementation.

About the Product

The product was built for insurance agencies to run their back office and to enable their agents to run their businesses. It has a light CRM component, along with phones, SMS, e-sign, fax, chat.

Part 1: User Research & Prototyping (Now - Mid-May)

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand customer needs and pain points.
  • Collaborate on the definition of 8 feature ideas aimed at solving user problems.
  • Design light-fidelity, interactive prototypes of these features using a tool like Figma.
  • Ensure prototypes are ready for presentation and feedback gathering at a customer advisory board meeting by mid-May.

 

Part 2: Design System Implementation (June-October)

  • Evaluate and recommend the best design library for the client's needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering to implement a scalable design system.
  • Establish design system documentation and best practices for the team.
  • Prepare the engineering team to effectively utilize the design system when building new features.

 

Part 3: Ongoing Support (After 6 Months)

  • Be available for ad-hoc UX design projects as the company scales.

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer.
  • Proven ability to conduct user research and synthesize findings.
  • Strong wireframing and prototyping skills
  • Experience with design systems and UI component libraries.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to translate design concepts into clear and concise documentation for developers (basic CSS knowledge required).
  • A passion for user-centered design and a strong desire to create intuitive and engaging user experiences.
