JOB DETAIL

Describe overall job purpose (reason it exists).   As a Business Intelligence developer, the candidate will be required to design and develop information models, perform data analysis, and create qualitative reporting solutions to enable the business to make critical business decisions. Candidate will also assist in the technical design, development and implementation of BI reporting solutions. Candidate will leverage Microsoft Power BI, SAP HANA, SAP BW on HANA, SAP HANA CDS views and Business Objects to deliver reporting solutions. Primary objective is to go through functional specifications, complete fit gap analysis, create technical specifications, design and develop reporting solution, complete unit and integration testing, coordinate functional, user acceptance testing, and production deployment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:              

  • Deep knowledge of SAP BW, and is proficient in the SAP Business Objects tool set.
  • Ability to write efficient ABAP code to enhance the SAP BW functionality.
  • Knowledge in SAP HANA modeling required.
  • Proficient in SAP BusinessObjects Universe design and data modeling.
  • Strong expertise and experience in utilizing SAP BW on HANA, SAP HANA and SAP HANA CDS views to develop intuitive data streams to meet business requirements
  • Expert level design and development skills in SAP Business Objects BI development, SAP Analysis for Office, Microsoft Power BI tools
  • Strong analytical capabilities with an understanding of statistical modeling
  • Basic skills using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Skype)

 

Job Duties:

  • Works on the design and implementation of projects that involve business intelligence solutions as a lead or individual contributor.
    • Works on moderately complex tasks for the deployment of new solutions and enhancements/fixes to existing solutions.  These include, but is not limited to: troubleshooting, problem-solving, issue resolution, user interaction, training, defining systems scope, gathering requirements, documenting design & technical specifications, research and fact-finding, configuration, testing, reporting, cutover, IS and business user coordination.
    • Effective work relationships within departmental and functional lines at various job levels with business users, IS departments, user groups and Clients business partners.
    • Learns or demonstrates a broad, in-depth understanding of more than one business intelligence product/tool and associated integration.
    • Helps coordinate the adoption of new business procedures resulting from system/application changes, including the development of system specifications, documentation, training, and communication plans.
    • Performs analysis on and recommends complex quality solutions.
    • Understands and applies the various IT methodologies which include project management, development, service management and system architecture.
