JOB DETAIL

Position Summary:Join our team as an IT Project Manager focused on driving Laboratory Data Modernization initiatives within the Office of State Public Health Laboratories (OSPHL). This role involves managing complex project schedules, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing laboratory operations. 
Core Responsibilities: 

·       Project Management:Lead multiple detailed project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines, milestones, and critical paths. 

·       Monitoring and Control:Oversee projects to ensure timely completion and address any deviations from the plan. 

·       Stakeholder Engagement:Schedule and conduct stage gate review meetings with internal OSPHL teams, advising on key risks and issues. 

·       Resource Allocation:Collaborate with managers to allocate OSPHL resources effectively, advocating for appropriate project tasks. 

·       Communication:Respond to inquiries from public health authorities and funding agencies, providing updates on Laboratory Data Modernization initiatives. 

·       Grant Support:Assist in the preparation of funding applications to support project work. 

·       Team Collaboration:Liaise with internal teams, such as the Office of Information Services Strategic Development Division (OIS SDD), to provide support and ensure alignment with project goals. 

·       Change Management:Project manage organizational change efforts and coordinate User Acceptance testing for the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Replacement Project. 

·       Reporting:Write biweekly project status reports detailing all activities, resource capacity, and ad hoc reports required for OSPHL management decision-making. 

·       Documentation:Maintain project planner with updates based on input from the laboratory management team, assisting in completing project deliverables for LIMS Replacement and related subprojects. 

Qualifications: 

·       Bachelor's degree in IT, project management, or related field. 

·       Proven experience in project management, particularly in IT or laboratory settings. 

·       Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. 

·       Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities. 

·       Familiarity with grant application processes is advantageous. 

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to work effectively remotely. 

  • Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 

  • In addition, the ideal candidate will have skills and experience in: 

  • Organization Change Management in a Laboratory or Clinical Care setting. 

  • Project Management experience Laboratory or Clinical Care setting. 

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies.
