The Senior Data Analyst is crucial for developing insights into data relationships supporting business processes and applications. This role involves extensive data analysis, from extraction and retrieval to in-depth examination, to identify anomalies and understand data movement within systems. The ideal candidate will independently research complex data sources, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and documentation of data mappings and lineage.

Responsibilities:

Analyze and understand the flow and storage of data within systems to identify any discrepancies.

Bridge the gap between business and technical teams, effectively communicating data-related concepts.

Document findings and ensure detailed mapping and lineage are stored in knowledge repositories.

Work closely with business and IT to comprehend business processes and related data. 

Requirements: 

Strong technical proficiency with a keen ability to conduct independent data research and analysis.

Proficient in SQL for effective data retrieval and analysis.

Familiarity with COBOL, DB2, and Informatica is advantageous.

Experience with SAS is beneficial.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise between business and technical stakeholders.

Capable of documenting detailed findings and data processes. 

Additional Information:

Candidates should be prepared for more frequent on-site days if necessary. A strong understanding of the technical and business aspects of data is essential.
