Leverages appropriate analytic tools (SQL, Tableau Prep, Tableau Desktop, R, GCP, others)to integrate, clean, and transform public health and healthcare data.
Builds analyses and visualizations, dashboards using appropriate software (Tableau Desktop, R/Python, GCP, others) for a variety of purposes and audiences. Purposes may include public reporting, performance evaluation, decision analytics, data quality analysis, and/or scientific publication. Audiences may include the public, healthcare providers, community action groups, other government agencies, specific VDH disease programs, and/or VDH leadership.
Maintains, republishes, and enhances data products according to established cadences (e.g., daily, weekly, annually).
Works collaboratively with business stakeholders and subject-matter experts to define and refine requirements.
Documents detailed description of data cleaning steps, sources, filters, assumptions, and purposes.
Maintains Documentation related to data visualization processes, tools, and best practices while continuing to enhance existing processes and procedures.
Proactively identifies and communicates data quality issues and addresses issues arising from data processing.
Conducts other duties as requested/assigned.
