JOB DETAIL

  • Experience using Windows 10.
  • Proficient in using ArcGIS Pro software.
  • Experience using extensions to ArcGIS software, such as Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, and Image Analyst.
  • Thorough knowledge of coordinate systems and map projections to enable accurate georeferencing of analog data.
  • At least 5 years professional experience georeferencing analog geologic maps using ArcGIS software. Must have experience using a variety of methods including using coordinate tic marks, topographic, hydrologic, and cultural features on variety of base maps – topographic, elevation models, and orthoimagery.
  • At least 5 years professional experience creating and editing shapefiles and feature classes sourced from both raster and tabular data, including the creation and editing of attribute tables.
  • At least a Bachelors degree in Geology or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years professional experience using geologic knowledge and skills to recognize and extract data about rock type and minerals, geologic age, structural features, geophysical and geochemical anomalies, mineral occurrences, and mineral inventory from geologic and mineral resource maps and similar geotechnical information sources.
  • At least 5 years professional experience creating new databases and database records using geologic and mineral deposit information from original scientific literature and company reports. At least 5 years professional experience viewing and interpreting aerial or satellite imagery for the purposes of locating and verifying the position of mineral occurrence sites and geological features.
  • At least 5 years professional experience evaluating mineral deposit and prospect information, including grade, tonnage, deposit type, and location sourced from NI 43 101 reports, exploration company press releases and websites, and other similar materials, using GIS, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • At least 5 years professional experience creating geological illustrations to USGS publications standards including, but not limited to, derivative maps, cross sections, mineral deposit schematics, and block diagrams with GIS, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • At least 5 years professional experience with Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) metadata creation, editing, and proofing for geologic and mineral resource databases.
  • At least 5 years of professional work experience using ArcGIS software in geologic and mineral resource studies to create, review, and publish GIS databases.
  • Professional experience working with multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to work independently for extended periods and think critically about work assignments and deliverables.
