As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Netezza databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions to meet the needs of our organization.

Manage, monitor, and maintain Netezza databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
Identify and resolve performance issues, optimize queries, and fine-tune database configurations to improve efficiency and response times.
Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime in case of failures or disasters.
Implement and enforce database security policies, roles, and permissions to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches.
Configure and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, such as clustering on Openshift.
Collaborate with developers and architects to design and optimize database schemas, indexes, and data structures for performance and scalability.
Apply patches, service packs, and updates on IBM Netezza ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
Set up and configure database monitoring tools to proactively monitor performance metrics, disk space, and other vital parameters. Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to prevent service disruptions.
Create and maintain technical documentation for database, schemas, tables, configurations, and procedures etc.
Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure scalability and efficient utilization of database server resources.
