* Develop and execute VDI architecture strategies aligned with business objectives.

* Design and implement new VDI solutions and enhancements.

* Participate in infrastructure planning and capacity management.

 

Administration and Maintenance:

* Manage and maintain VDI infrastructure components, including hypervisors, virtual desktops, and associated network components.

* Perform ongoing performance tuning and optimization of the VDI environment.

* Manage user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access control.

* Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.

 

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:

* Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex VDI issues.

* Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

* Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.

 

Capacity Planning and Optimization:

* Monitor VDI environment performance and resource utilization.

* Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure optimal performance.

* Identify and implement opportunities for optimization.

 

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:

* Maintain comprehensive documentation of VDI infrastructure, processes, and procedures.

* Provide knowledge transfer and training to L1 and L2 support teams.

 

Primary skills:

* Extensive experience with VDI technologies (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops).

* Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

* Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and security best practices.

* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Secondary Skills:

* Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

* Experience with cloud-based VDI solutions (e.g., AWS WorkSpaces, Azure Virtual Desktop).
