Architecture Delivery: The SA owns the architecture delivery, ensuring solutions are fit for both current and future needs. They are accountable for high-quality architectural design and implementation, compliant with Shell's standards and strategies.
Collaboration: The SA works closely with the relevant Lead Architects, IT Managers, and product/project managers to deliver, assure, and implement solutions. They also lead teams of architects via squads, managing resources (if a line management position), and developing team members' skills through coaching and delegation.
Solution Development: The SA provides consultancy and assurance to projects, ensuring applications conform to Shell standards and reference architectures. They are accountable for the end-to-end architecture of products, from development to deployment and hyper care.
Integration and Data Management: The SA addresses business process, data, application, technical, and information security aspects. They ensure solution architecture is documented and conforms to Shell standards, review low-level designs, and make significant design decisions. They also manage data quality standards and ensure compliance with data policies.
Technology and Innovation: The SA defines technology services and components, conducts proof of concepts, and ensures solutions are future-proof. They maintain knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements and embed security and privacy by design in projects.
Experience and Skills: The role requires 7-10 years in digital and IT, with at least 3 years of stakeholder management experience. The SA should have substantial technology experience, preferably with a background in software engineering, and be able to work in virtual teams across different time zones and cultures. They should be delivery-oriented, with a focus on agile and product-focused delivery. Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF and architecture tooling like Bizz Design, PowerDesigner and ArchiMate modelling standard.
