- Creating diagrams that show key data entities and creating an inventory of the database tables, procedures, etc. needed to implement solutions
- Experience with database design, data integration/aggregation, metadata management, database administration, and performance tuning within Microsoft Azure Cloud and Microsoft SQL databases. The current database is MS SQL Server 2012 and the plan is to move to the modern database.
- Formulate the organizational data strategy, including standards of data quality, the flow of data within an application solution, and security of data.
- Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating business requirements, applications, and programming.
- Oversee and execute the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
- Write database migration scripts to migrate data from multiple legacy databases.
- Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
- Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
- Install and organize database to guarantee company functionality.
- Create and maintain a repository of all data architecture artifacts.
- Adhere to Agile principles and philosophies in fulfillment of the role.
- Educate staff members through training and individual support of the database structure.
