· Cybersecurity Expertise: Understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and current threats. Ability to apply this knowledge to develop effective strategies for various levels of government.
· Strategic Planning: Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity plans that align with broader state and federal objectives.
· Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, manage resources effectively, and meet deadlines.
· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise educational materials and present complex information to diverse audiences.
· Collaboration: Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including federal partners, state agencies, local governments, and community organizations.
· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and propose strategic solutions to enhance cybersecurity.
· Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive statewide initiatives, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and working towards common cybersecurity goals.
· Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving cybersecurity challenges and quickly adjust strategies and plans to address emerging threats.
Impact: This role is essential to ensuring the state can effectively protect its digital infrastructure by enhancing the cybersecurity capabilities of local governments and statewide partners.
Through coordinated efforts, education, and the promotion of best practices, the Statewide Cybersecurity Coordinator will contribute to a stronger and more resilient cybersecurity environment across the state.
Work Environment & Travel Requirements: While the position is primarily remote, there will be a need for in-person attendance at meetings and events, as well as occasional travel to various locations across Maine. The selected candidate should be prepared to travel as needed to effectively coordinate cybersecurity efforts and engage with stakeholders statewide.
