Traditional DevOps engineer-two focuses (1) have infra and processes that they need built, half of the work is managing the systems and developing the process around maintaining and deploying. CI/CD, cloud infra, deployment strategy. General grab bag of devops engineering.
(2) For customers, deploy some of Woven's solutions to Toyota. Work with them to help set up their infrastructure and processes. Provisioning cloud resources, setting up CI/CD pipelines, deploying SW packages. (Less of an ongoing maintenance, but more specific projects).
Mid-level person is sufficient. Very much a generalist.
New skill sets for the team. No one there to guide them or train them really. Someone who knows best practices.
Cloud Architecture-predominantly AWS, GitHub, and Jira integration. Use JFrog.
Internal cloud architecture-have their own servers-terraform or ansible for provisioning, kubernetes that runs in more of a local environment.
Vehicle experience is a plus. Can ramp someone up on this. Lot of what they deploy is a virtual of what they would see in a car.
Bazel-build tool. It produces reproducible builds. The script that compiles artifacts in Bazel. That tool is used often. Will be the preferred platform for new projects as well. How to extend it to deploy artifacts to a specific place. Highly recommended.
Projects they will jump into day 1. Team started at the beginning of the year. Everything they have built is brand new. Collection of Arene products. One of the first tasks is standardizing everything, automate some of the testing processes around that. Have equipment for some of their products that they use to test, but it is manually organized now. Get it appropriately put into their environment.
