BCBS has an IBM mainframe that runs mission a critical app which is their claims adjudication system. One of the COBOL programmers on the team left BCBS, and BCBS is looking for an immediate backfill with a hybrid on site candidate for a 6 months+ contract to hire. They make changes to the claims system so that claims adjudicate at first pass so that a processor doesn’t have to process them. Periodic reviews that happen and they have to make routine updates. All medical claims adjudication apps are in COBOL so these are mission critical applications.

This person is just going to be responsible for the applications side and not systems administration. This person should be familiar with COBOL programming specifically on a mainframe. This person should also be able to communicate the business side of a payer and the claims adjudication process.
