JOB DETAIL

  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
  • Analyze and understand business requirements, translating them into efficient and scalable mainframe solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, QA, and operations teams, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to system design, processes, and data flows.
  • Participate in production support, including troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure software meets business and technical requirements.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices related to mainframe development.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong proficiency in COBOL programming and mainframe development.
  • Experience with JCL (Job Control Language), DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
  • Knowledge of mainframe utilities such as SORT, IDCAMS, and FILE-AID.
  • Proficiency in debugging tools like XPEDITER, Abend-AID, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of batch and online processing concepts.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile
  • Experience working in financial, healthcare, or government sectors.
  • Knowledge of modern development tools and technologies, such as API integrations, DevOps practices, and cloud migration strategies.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and modernization frameworks.
  • Exposure to tools like Endevor, Control-M, or other version control/job scheduling tools.
  • Knowledge of Kafka/Rabbit MQ is highly desirable
  • Experience working in Java environments is huge
