To design, develop and maintain software that is built on the IBMi platform using RPG and SQL languages and procedures.
This will include assessing business requirements and translating into effective designs;
Producing high quality, standard-compliant code;
Collaborating with developers to ensure that changes are coordinated and knowledge is shared to permit more effective platform support;
Complying with the use of development standards using for example JIRA for the change management process together with release management procedures;
The management of deadlines through collaboration with technical and business teams;
Escalating to management platform events that need further focus or resolution.


Experience Required:
RPG Developer with Health Plan Encounter and 837 expertise;
A minimum of 5 years in the writing of ILE RPG and RPG Sequel programs and services with at least 2 years conducting development in Financial applications;
Experience in the writing of applications that use the DB2 400 relational database;
A genuine passion for technology and problem solving;
Good communication skills and the ability to deliver in accordance with deadlines;
Experience in the use of the Synon code generator tool and Java would be desirable but not essential.
