Scrum Master Responsibilities
• Facilitate Periodic Stand-ups: Conduct regular stand-ups to discuss progress, identify blockers, and foster team collaboration.
• Board Management: Ensure the board is up-to-date, reflecting the current state of tasks and progress.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvements to streamline workflows, enhance team productivity, and ensure clear communication.
• Stakeholder Communication: Support the analytics leads by ensuring they have essential information for discussions with stakeholders on prioritization and resource allocation.
• Performance Monitoring: Track frequent blockers and metrics such as lead time, cycle time, and throughput to troubleshoot issues and improve efficiency of execution.
Tasks: Process
• Meet weekly (or more frequently if urgency / deadline demands) with each analytics team / subteam to collect updates, ensuring roadblocks are uncovered and escalated if necessary
• Each analytics team has ~ 4-20 members. Teams over ~6 should be broken into subteams.
• There are 5 analytics teams (RWE-inflam, RWE-onc, RWE-virol, GHEOR, OHDSI)
• Some subteams have a PM. Scrum master should only meet regularly with the PM, not their team members.
• *Follow up with analysts who cannot attend regular scrum mtg.
• For highest priority studies, meet with epi / analyst team together on daily or semiweekly calls.
Skills and Experience
• Understands analysis workflow in a pharmaceutical setting
• Has worked in a regulated environment
• Excellent and persistent communicator with experience on teams with both technical and managerial members
