Roles and Responsibilities
Position Summary
The BI Developer is responsible for working with the company's business stakeholders and project managers to define, build, test, and deploy BI solutions. This includes SQL database views, stored procedures, queries, and working with BI tools like Microsoft Power BI or Tableau. The BI Developer will also develop functional and technical reporting documentation and be responsible for training end-users on how to use the dashboards. You will be analyzing data at a large scale for a US-based company that has partnered with Soni Brothers Outsourcing Solutions (SBOS) Private Limited.
The BI developer will build systems that manage and convert raw data into usable information for data scientists, business analysts and department lead to interpret. Their ultimate goal is to make data accessible so that the company can use it to evaluate and optimize its performance.
This position will work within the Information Technology team ensuring that the company can collect a massive amount of data, utilizing the right technology to ensure the data is usable.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for acquiring datasets that align with business needs through the organization and analysis of raw data.
- Develop algorithms and prototypes to transform data into useful, actionable information. This may also include preparing data for predictive analytics.
- Collaborate with management to understand company objectives. Use agile software development processes to iteratively create and make improvements to our BI dashboards.
- Work independently on assigned projects, and collaboratively within a team.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience using Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
- 3 - 5 years of experience with developing queries, views, tables, and consuming data from Azure, SQL, or similar tools
- Working knowledge on how to automate, deliver and schedule BI dashboards and reports. Familiar with relational and non-relational databases.
- Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines and work independently. Ability to handle multiple projects and activities in a timely, organized manner.
- Must communicate effectively and confidently with business partners, project team members, and senior management: excellent verbal, and written communication with the ability to develop and present information in various formats.
- Creative problem solver, flexible, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
