Roles and Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Data Engineer/Database Administrator is responsible for designing, testing, planning, and implementing data interfaces, the quality of the data in the data warehouse, and the overall database administration. You will build systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information for data scientists and business analysts to interpret. Your ultimate goal is to make data accessible so that organizations can use it to evaluate and optimize their performance.

Essential Functions

1. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of data interfaces from internal and external systems into the company's data warehouse and the quality of that data.
2. Monitor and manage the database server, performance, and security.
3. Responsible for building data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources.
4. Collaborate with management to understand company objectives. Use agile software development processes to iteratively make improvements to our backend systems.
5. Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
6. Responsible for the organization and management of company data, while keeping an eye out for trends and inconsistencies that will impact the business.
7. Works independently on projects as assigned, and collaboratively within a team.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

1. 3 - 5 years of experience with;

• Relational and non-relational databases
• Creating ETL processes
• Data security
• Database management

1. Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
2. Experience with setting up data lake, data warehouse, ETL processes, API, and other data interface integrations.
3. Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines and work independently. Ability to handle multiple projects and activities in a timely, organized manner.
4. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with business partners, project team members, and senior management. Excellent verbal, and written communication with the ability to develop and present information in various formats.
5. Creative problem solver, flexible, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
6. Deep experience in data management and reporting tools and applications. Examples include Microsoft Power BI.
7. Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
