Roles & Responsibilities :

1. Administration and Managing PostgreSQL database

2. Maintain standby databases, Migrate and upgrade databases

3. Implement high availability solutions fail-safe db environment with attest

2 DB Servers 4. Able to manage multiple instance of PostgreSQL

5. Should be able to do Point in time recovery

6. Convert logical design to physical design, Support online backups for Staging /

production databases

7. Planning, implementation and maintaining (Incremental/full and hot) DB Backups

Strategies.

8. Ability to configure DB parameters to optimize it s performance

9. Write database checks for the alert monitoring system Requirements.

10. Ability to create, update and configure stored procedures, views, tables, index, triggers

etc.

11. Need to handle data trouble shooting and maintaining data integrity and security.

12. Identification of issues and optimize the issue.

13. Work with developers to understand applications and operational system parameters and contribute to engineering designs.

14. Create SQL queries.

15. Should be able to work independently or in team with minimal guidance and able to meet tight deadlines.

16. Write database administrative documentation.

17. Deliver high quality of work on-time.

18. Excellent problem solving, design, coding, and debugging skills.
 

Qualification BE/B Tech in Computer Engineering or MCA

Experience range Minimum 3-4 years experience as Postgresql DBA. Experience of working as Database developer will be an added advantage.

Critical skills required

1. PostgreSQL DBA skill is essential.

2. Sound operating knowledge on Windows/UNIX / Linux platform.

3. Should have worked on Enterprise DB.

 4. Should have Post GIS Experience (Optional).
