Roles and Responsibilities

Position Summary

The QA Automation Engineer is responsible for designing test procedures for software applications. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing the functionality of applications and designing automated tests to validate their performance. You will also be required to identify bugs and collaborate with the software design team.

To ensure success as a QA automation engineer, you should have advanced programming skills, a keen eye for detail, and excellent project management skills. A skilled QA automation engineer can design and write efficient test procedures for every software application

Essential Functions

1. Write, design, and execute manual test scripts.
2. Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
3. Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the system.
4. Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these Scenarios.
5. Write documentation for automated processes including test plans, test procedures, and test cases.
6. Build test automation frameworks.
7. Log and document bugs in the tracking system.
8. Set up Continuous Integration.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education and Training

1. Bachelor's Degree or higher. Certification in a relevant field is highly preferred.

Qualifications

1. 3-5 years of experience with automation tools like Selenium, and Node.js, API testing tools like RestSharp, and test case management tools like Zephyr.
2. Familiar with how to extract data from a database like SQL.
3. Experience with Agile methodology is preferred.
4. Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines and work independently. Ability to handle multiple projects and activities in a timely, organized manner.
5. Must communicate effectively and confidently with business partners, project team members, and senior management: excellent verbal, and written communication with the ability to develop and present information in various formats.
6. Creative problem solver, flexible, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
7. Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
