• Must possess strong analytical skills to be able to break down complex problems into smaller atomic units of work.

• Work closely with our Project Managers to understand the project and business needs.

• Design and implementation of the feature-related components including UI / UX, middle, and database tiers.

• Writing back-end code and building efficient PHP modules.

• Developing back-end portals with an optimized database.

• Troubleshooting application and code issues.

• Finalizing back-end features and testing web applications.

• Ensuring that the stack is built for speed and scalability.

• Writing effective APIs for integration with other systems.

• Maintain awareness of the current product roadmap to assist with developing strategic plans.

• Collaborating with developers, designers, and the rest of the team to deliver well-architected and high-quality solutions.

• Perform peer code reviews.

• Mentor junior team members throughout the software development lifecycle

Job Requirements

• Extensive experience in PHP5 / PHP 7.

• Knowledge of PHP web frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, Yii, and CodeIgniter (Symfony preferred) and MVC patterns.

• Understanding of open source projects like Drupal, Wikis, osCommerce would be a bonus.

• Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery and HTML5.

• Proficient with code versioning tools like Git.

• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases especially MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.

• Experience working with teams with Agile development model.

• Deep expertise in Object Oriented Programming, Concurrency, Design Patterns, RESTful APIs, Service Oriented Architecture, Test Driven Development.

• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React would be a bonus.

• Writing effective REST APIs
