JOB DETAIL

Role

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to be a part of an expanding team of engineers, computational biologists and bioinformatics scientists as we build the next-generation molecular imaging platforms for research, pharmaceutical development and clinical science. In this role, you will develop and integrate workflows related to spatial transcriptomics and other omics technologies. As new applications and assays are built by the company, you will work with the team and establish best practices for workflow optimization and pipeline creation. You will also help to integrate information from relevant bioinformatics databases to improve the richness of our downstream analysis. Your scripting and analytic skills will be invaluable for interpreting these high dimensional datasets and building the company’s integrative frameworks.

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field (cell/ molecular biology, genetics, genomic science) and 2+ years hands on experience working with bioinformatics tools and datasets.
  • Understanding and familiarity with common bioinformatics databases, resources and tools.
  • 2+ years of coding and scripting in modern programming languages (C/C++, Java, Python, R).

Experience

  • Preferable to have 1-2 years of experience with modern laboratory omics workflows for image processing, genome sequence analysis, and single cell genomics.
  • Desirable to have 2+ years of experience in building analysis pipelines and processing large-scale genomic datasets.
  • Preferable to have strong background in imaging workflows for digital pathology and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Experience with gene and protein pathway and network analyses and bioinformatics toolkits from the academic open source community.

Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of all modern genomics technologies.
  • Fluent in understanding of DNA, RNA and protein characterization and profiling.
  • Introductory understanding and exposure to neuroscience, oncology or cancer biology and immunology. Other pharmaceutical development knowledge and medical, disease or therapeutic area fluency desirable (i.e. drug development, endocrinology, cardiovascular disease, etc.).
