Your team

The R&D IT Hardware Design Environment team (HDE) supports over 8,000 IC designers throughout NXP, with compute, storage, network, and EDA licenses services. These services aim at reduced lead times and improving the quality of our IC design projects.

Our HDE team supports many key IT services which are utilized by our designers to complete their new product introduction and project objectives. Each of our services, (VDI, HPC, TR, and EDA Licenses), must function in unison. A deficiency in one service can impact the functionality of the design environment, and ultimately a design teams business deliverables.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Bachelors - Computer Science or Electronic & Communication or Information Systems with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with EDA Design environment workflows is a plus
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in C/Python/Perl and build automation.
  • Design and implement services and components meeting functional and non - functional requirements.
  • Unit test cases preparation and code review.
  • Cross - functional team coordination across the globe (analytics team, data feed team, data base team and web development team etc.)
  • Develop Program using various programming languages such as C and write scripts using PERL and/or Python for test automation development
  • Experience with continuous integration tools, Jenkins
  • Experience in Source Control Management including perforce, Git and GitHub
  • Experience with migration of applications to cloud environments
  • Experience with working on database is desired
  • Building out new functionality in the automation infrastructure
  • Very good debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of operational principles, such as proactive capacity planning, monitoring, reviewing, technology migrations and incident handling
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be able to prioritize to meet deadlines and quickly shift priorities as necessary
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently with minimum supervision and demonstrate keen attention to details

What will you do as DevOps Engineer?

You are expected to work very closely with your global colleagues within R&D IT and help deliver the HDE TR services to our engineering and R&D customers. You will also be required to provide operational support to our Global based R&D team members. Your team has operational/development responsibility for all designated services globally. Work with C/Python/Perl/Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment. Also, necessary to ensure good coverage and fast response for any issues requiring attention.
