Roles and Responsibilities
IT Director Role & Responsibilities:
- Oversee global technology operations(IT, network & its security) and evaluate them according to established goals.
- Develop strategy related to organization's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems, integrations of acquired entities).
- Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
- Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management.
- Ensure smooth delivery and operations of IT services by monitoring systems & its performance.
- Coordinate with IT managers and supervise computer scientists, technicians and other professionals to provide guidance.
- Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software.
- Control budget and report on expenditure.
- Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
- Ensuring IT systems are in accordance to various compliance and audit standards.
IT Director Requirements and skills:
- Proven experience as IT director or in similar role.
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Good understanding of latest Cloud technologies(AWS, Azure & GCP).
- 10+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects.
- Experience in controlling information technology budget.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
- Bachelors in computer science, engineering or a relevant field.
