Job Description



Responsibilities
Assist Indian finance personnel with Indian tax accounting and perform quarterly reviews of reported balances for accuracy. Knowledge of US GAAP rules is desired , but not mandatory;
Lead efforts to secure tax and financial incentives from local governments;
Closely coordinate with the Tax team to ensure strategic and tactical alignment and the execution of tax initiatives in India for both income taxes and GST. Identify and implement tax minimization strategies for existing operations , support and expand initiatives to work more cooperatively with government officials in developing tax policy in India;
Manage Indian transfer pricing compliance. Coordinate with Corporate Tax on all related transfer pricing strategy , compliance and regulatory developments;
Closely work with the tax advisors on litigation and tax audits;
Monitor tax law changes and appraise tax and senior management of the impact;
Manage tax audits either directly or through use of appropriate outside advisors , and proactively review businesses to identify compliance risks;
Improve tax (direct and GST) compliance processes so that each process is precise and is performed cost - efficiently;
As needs dictate , recruit and build a high performance Tax team
Key Deliverables

Enable business finance managers and site controllers to accurately account for Indian statutory tax balances. Ensure timely and cost effective Indian tax compliance , including direct and GST taxes.
Provide advice or guidance on customs and duties matters. Provide tax counsel and support and participate in business operations and decision making in India , including acquisitions , dispositions and new projects. The job will be based in Bangalore , India , and report to the Senior Tax Manager APAC , Brisbane AU , with dotted line reporting to the Finance Director in India.

Education
Min 8 - 10 years of Experience.
CA qualification is desired , as well as experience working in the tax field.
Ideally some knowledge of the heavy equipment industry.
Professional Experience

An experienced financial professional with a background in a variety of financial roles , strong project management skills , prefer some experience in the merger , acquisition and divestiture of companies in India.
Excellent negotiation skills that are needed in working with a broad variety of teams with diverse professional disciplines and cultural setting.
Key Competencies
Must Have:
Strong inter - personal and inter - cultural skills , as a high frequency of interaction with a large variety of external as well as internal parties is required , mostly based on influencing skills rather than formal authority.
Strong technical and analytical skills in tax and finance
Physical Demands (e.g. % travel) Willing to travel on a need basis
