• 4-8 years of Cassandra DBA experience on either Datastax or Open-source Cassandra.
• Deep knowledge of Datastax Cassandra 6.X databases and client tools like Datastax studio.
• Expert level of Cassandra installation/configuration, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, performance tracking/tuning, backup/recovery, Disaster Recovery, remote monitoring skills with hands-on experience in-large and very dynamic environments.
• Strong Experience with Cassandra cluster/replication strategies, architecting high-availability solutions using multi datacenter setup.
• Experience with NoSQL schema design and various Cassandra client drivers
• Experience with dev-ops tools like Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Terraform etc.,
• Experience with various monitoring tools like DataStax (OpsCenter), Foglight, Zenoss, AppD etc.,
• Experience with AWS/Cloud Services
• Familiar with Commvault backup and restoring of Cassandra clusters.
• Must be familiar with DSE solr indexes, DS-Bulk copy process, configuring and maintaining Kerberos authentication.
• Strong troubleshooting/performance tuning skills required. Tuning instance memory configurations. Must be able improve CQL performance, schema design.
• Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers).
• Ability to implement automation to reduce manual administrative tasks through use of jobs, shell scripts, cron, or other techniques.
• Must be hands-on, technically adept DBA, capable of performing required Database tasks.
• Experience with very complex database environments.
• Experience in working controlled environment, change control, and validated systems.
• Experience on any of the Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB is plus
