Scope of Position:
As a member of the IS team, you will be contributing to the relentless pursuit of operational excellence through quality data and automation. Using large real-time data sets, you will help us identify opportunities to reduce operational waste. Through leveraging your Python, SQL development talents & statistical modeling, you will take action by working with the team to yielding real data-based results.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transform, clean, and enhance data for use in analytic solutions
- Analyze data and/or observe process execution to identify opportunities to bring consistency or automation to our operations
- Visualize data to communicate the current operational state as well as the predicted outcome of a data solution
- Leverage technical abilities to develop production code for automation scripts and data processes
- Develop documentation and presentations to drive business awareness
- Collaborate with the team on data architecture and best practices
- Share talents and knowledge within the organization to create an environment of continuous learning
Qualifications
- Degree computer science, engineering with working experience in an analytics / data / engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of statistical or data science methods to deliver insights
- Develop & maintain algorithms to drive business decisions
- Strong in Python and SQL (MySQL/ Postgres / Oracle) (5+ Years of hands-on experience)
- Fluency in SQL with knowledge of database manipulation and maintenance.
- Confident ability to automate data transformation using Python
- Experience with Pandas, Numpy, and Anaconda preferred. (5+ Years of hands-on experience)
- Strong data / root cause analysis: Experience analyzing business problems, proposing and building a solutions
- Ability to analyze data for patterns to optimize automated logic
- Experience with predictive models and approaching forecasting outcomes
- Experience with sound statistical / mathematical practices when analyzing and developing models
- Ability to create automated monitoring of models
- Experience in data visualization to communicate current state / results (Microsoft PowerBI experience preferred)
- Ability to self-solve problems through creative research and investigation
Preferred Education/Experience
- Understanding of Agile/SAFe Framework
- Working knowledge of the freight, logistics, or transportation industry
- Ocean and air data environment experience a big plus
