Scope of Position:
As a member of the IS team, you will be contributing to the relentless pursuit of operational excellence through quality data. Using large enterprise data sets, you will help us identify opportunities scrap real-time data, consolidate them efficiently which will help us reduce operational waste by making qualitative decisions. Through leveraging your Python, R, API SQL development talents, you will collect and store real time data for analysis and decision making.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, fetch and persist large volume real-time enterprise data efficiently.
- Leverage technical abilities to develop production code for data processing.
- Develop documentation and presentations to drive business awareness
- Collaborate with the team on data architecture and best practices
- Share talents and knowledge within the organization to create an environment of continuous learning
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science/ Engineering with significant expertise in Python with 5+ years working experience.
- Fluency in SQL with knowledge of database manipulation and maintenance (MySQL/ Postgre/ Oracle) with variety of operations including, but not limited to CRUD, table design, indexing, key management.
- Experienced in Python, with knowledge of scrapy framework
- Maintaining the running web crawlers application.
- Design, build web crawlers to scrape data and URLs.
- Integrate the data crawled and scraped into our databases
- Create more/better ways to fetch relevant information connecting to API, URL DB s.
- Strong knowledge of web technologies and experience in making API call to fetch data.
- Understanding of data privacy policies and personally identifiable information.
- Strong data / root cause analysis: Experience analyzing business problems, proposing and building a solutions
- Ability to work in a team environment on large collective projects as well as smaller individual projects.
- Ability to self-solve problems through creative research and investigation
- Project management experience
- Comfort with presentation and public communication
Preferred Education/Experience
- Understanding of Agile/SAFe Framework
- Working knowledge of the freight, logistics, or transportation industry
- Ocean and air data environment experience a big plus
