Title & Job Overview: Software Engineer II: Java J2ee Experts:

The Software Engineer will design and develop software product applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software applications for internal use. Manage full software development life-cycle including testing, implementation, and auditing. Perform product design, bug verification, and beta support which may require research and analysis. Work under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment. May consult with senior peers on certain projects. Moderate skills with high level of proficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enhance, maintain, and support our cutting-edge Content Services Platform, primarily using Java.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, problem resolution.
• Work in an agile environment with a cross-functional team staffed in the USA and India
• Evaluation of new technology and development processes.
• Demonstrable professional expertise in Java programming, J2ee, Spring Boot, hibernate, Microservices (Preferable)
• Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, multi-threading, object-oriented programming, and design patterns and strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with software development for the Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Practical knowledge of working with one or more of the following J2EE application servers: Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere (Preferred)
• Minimum 2+ years of software engineering experience with a bachelors degree or equivalent
• Excellent communication, analytical, and development skills.

Desired (Secondary) Skills

• Agile team leadership with demonstrated expertise with HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript.
• Experience with Angular 2+ and/or Bootstrap framework.
• Working knowledge of SQL and at least one RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience working with Web Services (REST) with an understanding of RESTful service design.
• Experience working with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
