Job Title: Java Developer
GSR is seeking a talented, energetic, ambitious Java Developer. As the Java Developer you will have the opportunity to be a member of our Digital Transformation team working with state of the art tools and technologies to build the next wave of MDM tools for our global enterprise. You'll get the chance to interface with customers, create new products and web and mobile applications, and improve on existing systems and code. The products that you build will touch thousands of users across the globe.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and customize MDM tools using Java with the Tibco EBX Software platform
- Design relational and object database models and schemas.
- Full software development lifecycle, from design to implementation.
- Ship production code to a large customer base, and will take full ownership of your work, including testing and deployments.
- Collaborate with peer software engineers, domain experts, and end-users, to build the right solutions that address our business needs.
- Oversee the design, scoping, implementation, and testing in short agile release cycles
- Interface with Software Quality Assurance and deployment teams.
- Identify and implement technical innovations to improve work processes.
- Work closely with the lead developer and users to assure that business requirements are accurately represented in design and implementation phases.
- Receive direction from various business divisions.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS, MIS or related technical field of study
- 5+ years of software development experience
- 4+ years of Java, Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) based software development experience
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and developing all aspects of Java solutions
- Deep development experience with Java, JEE, Struts, Spring MVC, SOA, JSON, XML, and RESTful web service framework
- Experience developing software in different programming languages, and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages, including but not limited to Java, .NET, Ruby, Python and JavaScript
- Knowledge of application session-management information security concepts related to user authentication, and authorization Experience with Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server, MySQL databases
- Experience with HTML and CSS
- Experience with Lean / Agile development methodologies
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing software applications.
- Experience developing and consuming SOAP and REST APIs
- Experience with implementing unit tests, integration tests, Test Driven Development
- Strong development, analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to join an existing project and quickly become productive
- Must possess good teamwork skills and work effectively with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience in source code management (e.g. TFS, GitHub)
- Experience with build tools like Maven and Ant
Nice to have Qualifications & Skills:
- Hands-on experience with tools such as TIBCO EBX, Orchestra Networks, Informatica MDM (highly preferred), IBM Infosphere, etc.
- Proficiency with aspects of MDM concepts and implementations such as Master Data, Reference Data, Metadata, Hierarchy Management, data enrichment with external sources, workflow development and management
