LEAD ENGINEER

GURGAON, HARYANA

Salary: Dependent on Experience + Extensive Benefits Package

THE PURPOSE OF THE LEAD ENGINEER WILL BE:

To be an integral part of an Agile Software Team in a Lead role, leading the contribution of code and artefacts in order to support delivery of secure quality software.

WE D LIKE TO MEET A LEAD ENGINEER WITH:

Technical graduate- B.tech/ B.E., or equivalent qualifications, plus considerable work experience in a relevant role. OR Substantial work experience in a relevant role

10+ years of experience, preferably a Scrum/ PMP certified

A proven track record of successfully managing development or project team (preferably a .NET based project)

Demonstrable experience with operating formal project management methodologies

Previous project budget and capacity/ resource planning exposure

Previous client- facing and presentation experience

Demonstrable knowledge of the insurance industry and its processes and procedures gained through academic study or direct experience

Relationship management - customer interface at pre- project phase, during project and post completion

Technical Skills required:

C# .Net 4 or higher (4.5 is largely used)

WCF, API and ASMX Services

SQL Server (2005/ 8/ 12)

TFS (2015 currently in use)

Visual Studio 2010 upwards (2015 currently in use)

XML/ XSLT

IIS Configuration

NuGet Packaging

Desirable

Insurance industry experience, preferably from an Insurer or commercial broker perspective

Design and implementation of high transaction solutions.

Knowledge of TDD.

Knowledge of SOLID principles.

Knowledge of multi- threading.

Knowledge of garbage collection.

THE LEAD ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Maintains an in- depth knowledge of specific technical specialisms, and provides expert advice regarding their application. Can supervise specialist technical consultancy.

Sets standards for data analysis tools and techniques, advises on their application, and ensures compliance. Manages the investigation of corporate data requirements, and co- ordinates the application of data analysis and data modelling techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of the corporate information requirements, in order to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions)

Specifies and designs large or complex systems. Selects appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively.

Sets local or team- based standards for programming tools and techniques, advises on their application and ensures compliance. Takes technical responsibility for all stages in the software development process.

Prepares project and quality plans and advises systems development teams. Assigns work packages to technical employees, monitors performance and reports progress. Provides advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required

Determines the documentation needs of users. Designs individual documentation plans. Creates drafts for review of information format and content. Organises the production and distribution of approved documentation items.

Designs the content and appearance of complex information deliverables (e.g. web pages) in collaboration with clients/ users. Creates and tests complex, well- engineered deliverables with specified content and layout. Manages the configuration of documentation items and files, within own area of responsibility

Designs and builds integration components and interfaces. Leads practical integration work under the technical direction of the system / service designer. May contribute to the overall design of the service. May define the technical criteria for product/ component selection. Contributes to decisions about tools, methods and approaches

Drafts and maintains procedures and documentation for applications support.
