The Senior Manager HR strategically and proactively leads a range of HR related initiatives for the recruitment, development, and retention of talent across specialist departments. Partnering with managers, you’ll provide guidance on employee relations and opportunities, identify specific development needs, engagement opportunities, competitor landscape analysis and succession planning. You'll be required to push boundaries, break from tradition, and recommend innovative ways to solve business problems.

As an integral part of the studio leadership team, you’ll partner with department managers, global AKQA regional and worldwide HR leaders and the WPP HR community network to deliver on a world class employee experience. Your deep understanding of leadership practices and performance makes you adept at leading the People team to drive impactful outcomes across the company.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Consult with and advise leadership on strategic HR initiatives that create a high-performance company, reflecting its core values.
  • Partner with executive management teams to deliver a people strategy that meets current and future business objectives.
  • Work with Talent Partners to develop and execute recruitment strategies which identify top calibre talent at all levels across technology and creative landscapes.
  • Serve as an influential voice for HR strategies and initiatives across AKQA and within the WPP ecosystem.
  • Develop and mature the organisation’s approach towards reward, recognition, compensation, and benefits – conduct regular audits and reviews to optimise
  • Facilitate professional development programs and work with managers to create learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current employment law and regulations. Ensure all activities follow applicable employment-related legislation.
  • Influence organisational change, with a focus on development, retention, and engagement. Ability to analyse data and insights to drive action.
  • Encourage behaviours that create an inclusive environment, with equal opportunities for all.
  • Lead a culture of wellbeing, driving key initiatives which improve personal health across the company.
  • Approach people issues with confidentiality, fairness, consistency, and compassion.
  • Inspire and grow an ambitious People team, fostering an environment of best-in-class employee experiences.
  • Implement procedures to improve quality and efficiency in HR department best practices.

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Ability to both strategically support a high-performance environment and operate at the tactical level when required.
  • Experience leading People transformation initiatives in a collaborative and inspiring approach.
  • Versatile and able to adapt to frequently changing schedules and priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Deep knowledge of broader industry trends, competitive landscape, and HR best practice.
  • Engaging and approachable to all levels and stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication; able to communicate effectively within a company’s diverse culture.
  • Versatile and able to work in a high-paced, demanding environment.
  • MBA in HR or equivalent (desired).
  • Experience operating in a People team leadership position.
